Bauback’s music is uniquely eclectic, evoking a global and meditative ambience. His distinct sound on nylon string guitar comes from the heart, and he uses it to release creative and passionate tensions deep within. He thinks of music creation as a way of releasing emotions while creating opportunities to enchant the minds of both creator and listener.
“Music can be a source of life enhancement, with the potential to create atmospheres that enable people to flourish. This may sound simple and/or obvious, but it really isn’t. The right song can literally alter reality by taking the mind down roads less traveled. As various parts of the music stimulated brain begin to activate and chain reactions of synapses fire throughout the mind, we think and therefore experience differently. [Our experience of] Reality changes as our mental activities change, and music can even be a re-mind-er to be reflective and mindful. The habitual routines of the mind can be gently set aside as we allow ourselves to just be, releasing control, and taking in a fantastic musical stimulus. Both the present moment and music are precious and to offer them to one another can help us co-create healthier and more flourishing lives. I think many of the In Love & Light songs are sources that can be used for this purpose.”

His story:
One afternoon while visiting his Uncle as a child, Bauback grabbed a small guitar with only two strings on it that was lying around in the basement and began to play it with comfort and clarity. He experienced a sense of familiarity with the instrument. Several years later, he was visiting the home of his first love and began to play a guitar sitting in the living room, once again with comfort. He remembers his surprise when her mom asked him if he plays. Some years later, while visiting another family member, he found an old guitar in a room and began playing once again. After this visit however, he left the home with guitar in hand and blessings from the owner. It was then that his musical adventure commenced. After playing alternative, funk, and live drum and bass styles on his electric guitars with various groups, Bauback rediscovered the old guitar that was given to him. It was a nylon string classical, and he learned that it could be played in both classical and unorthodox ways to create sounds that express creative tensions inside of him that had been otherwise unreleased. He began to turn further inward with his music, playing nylon strings alone more often than steel strings in groups. More and more his passion for international sounds began to seep through his hands into every scale and chord. Bauback then started experimenting with production and recording and discovered a new passion for composition and arrangement. He now spends much of his free time producing and composing eclectic music with a global ambience and is working with Holmes on In Love and Light vol. 2.

Bauback also practices organizational change consulting and holds a Ph.D. in organizational behavior. He dedicates this album to peace advocates throughout the world and wishes healing for all people affected by organized violence.
